(MHN Sports Reporter Geum Yun-ho) Bayern Munich, which completely dominated the German Bundesliga league by achieving 11 consecutive wins, is collapsing.

Munich lost 2-3 to Bochum in the 22nd round away game of the 2023-2024 Bundesliga held at the Bonovia Ruhrstadion in Bochum, Germany on the 19th (Korean time).

Munich (50 points), which has lost two consecutive league games, is unable to close the gap with first-place Leverkusen (58 points) and is increasingly moving away from the championship trophy. Including the 0-1 loss in the first leg of the round of 16 of the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League (UCL) against Lazio (Italy) on the 15th, it was their 3rd consecutive loss.

Instead of winning, they are now in a position where they have to worry about being chased by 3rd place Stuttgart (46 points).

On this day, Munich took the lead first. Munich took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute of the first half when Jamal Musiala hit the net with a series of shots. Five minutes later, Harry Kane had a chance to score one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the shot went over the goalpost and no additional goal was scored.

As Munich failed to seize the opportunity to escape further, the initiative passed to Bochum. During a counterattack in the 38th minute of the first half, Bochum succeeded in tying the score with a right-footed shot by Japanese striker Taguma Asano, and in the 44th minute of the first half, Keben Schlotterbeck’s header from a corner kick turned the game around.

Munich, who entered the second half with a comeback allowed, went on the offensive, but in the 31st minute of the second half, Dayot Upamecano was sent off for accumulating warnings and gave up a penalty kick. In the ensuing situation, Kevin Stöger calmly scored, and Bochum went ahead 3-1.

Afterwards, in the 42nd minute of the second half, Kane, assisted by Mathis Tell, fired a chase, but was unable to score the equalizer, ultimately failing to prevent Munich from losing three games in a row.

Meanwhile, Kim Min-jae, who started as a central defender and played full-time that day, allowed 3 goals, but was evaluated as the only one in the defense who did his part, with statistics sites Sofa Score and FootMob giving him 7.5 points and 7.4 points, respectively.
