‘왕과 사는 남자’ (The Man Who Lives With the King) has surpassed 16.62 million cumulative moviegoers in South Korea, generating box office revenue of 160.5 billion won, according to data from the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system reported on April 22, 2026.
The film recorded 10,889 daily admissions on April 21, 2026, across 1,333 screenings, bringing its total audience to 16,620,000 since its release.
This milestone positions ‘왕과 사는 남자’ among the most-watched domestic films in South Korean cinema history, continuing its strong theatrical run months after its initial release in early 2026.
The period drama, which follows the deposed King Danjong (Yi Hong-wi, portrayed by Park Ji-hoon) during his final days in exile in Gwangcheonggol, Yeongwol, Gangwon Province, has maintained consistent audience interest through its portrayal of the bond between the king and village chief Eom Heung-do (played by Yoo Hae-jin).
The film previously crossed the 10-million admissions mark in March 2026, becoming the first domestic release in two years to achieve that milestone and the 34th South Korean film overall to reach 10 million viewers.
