[OSEN=이인환 기자] The decision was made by Kim Min-jae (27, Naples), who is the “leader” in the transfer correction.

Reporter Santi Auna of Spain’s ‘Foot Mercato’ reported on the 18th (Korea time), “Kim Min-jae informed Manchester United and other clubs that he is going to Bayern Munich.”

Kim Min-jae, who moved from Fenerbahce (Turkey) to Napoli in Italy ahead of the 2022-2023 season, contributed greatly to the team’s first Serie A championship in 33 years with his defense without any ups and downs.

Kim Min-jae played in 35 league games this season and hit the ground running for 3,054 minutes. He recorded 2 goals and 2 assists. He led Napoli to the fewest number of goals in the league (28 goals).

With these performances, Kim Min-jae was honored to be selected as the best defender in Serie A for the 2022-2023 season. He is the first Asian player to win the Serie A Best Defender award, which was first established in the 2018-2019 season.

In addition, it is known that the purchase of Kim Min-jae will be temporarily implemented for about two weeks from July 1st. Naturally, a fierce recruitment battle ensued from the start of the transfer market.

The first thing to go forward was Manchester United, who needed to reinforce their defenders. Newcastle, which is backed by huge Saudi capital, also continued to aim for Kim Min-jae.

However, a third candidate suddenly jumped in and ate up the flow. The candidate is Munich, the strongest player in the German Bundesliga. A Luca Hernandez transfer is likely, and they lured Min-jae Kim with a huge salary.

The day before, it was known that Munich offered 10 million euros (about 14 billion won) as an annual salary to Kim Min-jae. The contract period is also five years, until June 2028.

The purchase amount of Kim Min-jae is 50 million euros (about 69.5 billion won). Munich can afford Kim Min-jae’s transfer fee. In addition, it is known that the additional transfer fee for Kim Min-jae will be paid in full.

Ultimately, the huge salary offered by Munich and certain future projects managed to capture the heart of Kim Min-jae, the biggest defensive player in the transfer market this summer.

Auna explained, “Kim Min-jae chose Munich. He announced his plan to other clubs that were interested in recruiting him.”

He added, “In addition to the huge salary, agent fees are also paid. Manchester United and Newcastle, who were rejected by Kim Min-jae, will look for other defender options.”
