King Princess Announces ‘Girl Violence’ Album and 2025 Tour Dates

King Princess, the moniker of Mikaela Straus, has announced a new album, “Girl Violence,” set for release Sept. 12.The declaration follows the debut of the lead single, “RIP KP,” on “The Late Show with Stephen colbert.” Straus also revealed 2025 tour dates to support the new album.
“Girl Violence,” King Princess’ third studio album, will be released via section1. The 13-track record explores themes of personal change, including leaving a major label, a breakup, and a return to New York City.
The King princess 2025 tour begins with two performances at Austin City Limits in October. Shows are scheduled in Nashville, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, and other cities, concluding in Los Angeles on Nov. 22. European dates will follow in December. Tickets go on sale June 13 at 10 a.m. local time via ticketmaster. A Live Nation pre-sale for select dates begins June 10 at 10 a.m. local time (code TREBLE).
Regarding “RIP KP,” Straus described it as being “about the sexy side of girl violence — when love takes over your brain like a cordyceps and suddenly you’re getting messed all over your house, acting a fool.”
Straus said the song is the ideal album opener: ”dramatic, unhinged, and a little tongue-in-cheek.” She added, “I wrote it during a full ego death — leaving LA, my label, my old life — and somehow landed back in NYC making the music I would’ve obsessed over at 15. It’s a slutty anthem for the lesbians. We need debauchery this summer.”
