Korea women’s volleyball match against Poland under coach Lavarini at world championships

Korean women’s volleyball coach Stefano Lavarini, who led the national team until last year, met as an enemy at this year’s World Championships.

According to the draw results of the 2022 Netherlands-Poland World Women’s Volleyball Championships, which the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced on its website today (18th), Korea, along with the co-hosts Poland, Turkey, the Dominican Republic, Thailand and Croatia, were placed in Group B. organized.

Lavarini, who led the semifinals of Korean women’s volleyball at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics last year, was appointed as the head coach of the Polish women’s national team in January of this year.

Spanish coach Cesar Hernandez González, who previously assisted Lavarini, will face Lavarini’s Poland as the new head of the Korean national team.

Group B will be played in Arnhem, Netherlands and Gdansk, Poland.

This year, the Netherlands-Poland World Women’s Volleyball Championships will be held in two countries from September 23rd to October 15th.

The 24 countries are divided into 4 groups of 6 countries and the top 4 countries advance to the second round.


Round 2, in which 16 countries compete, is divided into two groups of 8 countries and ranked in a round-robin manner.

The top 4 countries from each group advance to the quarterfinals to determine the winner.
