While the Law on the Punishment of Serious Accidents, which strengthens criminal punishment for entrepreneurs in the event of an industrial accident causing serious casualties, began to be applied from 27th to workplaces with fewer than 50 up to 5 or more employees, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a “Seok-yeol Yoon” Event in the city. On this day, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions protested in front of the Jung-gu Press Center, Seoul, saying, “We condemn the abuse of the veto!” Stop the reform of the law on punishments for serious accidents! He held a resolution rally to step down from Yoon Seok-yeol’s regime in 2024 and shouted it.

They said: “Starting today, the law on punishment of serious injuries will be extended to workplaces with fewer than 50 employees. We have waited a long time. Now, this is the fruit of our struggle to create a world where many Workers do not die in our workplaces, and this is the result of our struggle.” “An achievement,” she emphasized.

He continued: “(But) President Yoon is still pushing for the postponement of the implementation, saying he will try to block the expanded implementation of the Serious Incident Punishment Law until the end,” and added: “We can never forgive Yoon Seok-yeol The Yoon Seok-yeol administration, which is pushing for reform of the Major Accident Punishment Law, must resign. “He raised his voice.

Previously, the People Power Party attempted to propose and pass an amendment to further increase the suspension of the Serious Accident Punishment Law during the plenary session held on the 25th. The reason was that if the system was extended to workplaces with da 5 to 50 employees as expected, workplaces that do not have manpower to handle safety and health work could fall into disarray.

However, due to opposition from the Democratic Party of Korea, it was not even presented at the plenary session and was cancelled. When this news became known, President Yoon reportedly expressed “strong regret over the irresponsible actions of the opposition party that ignored the difficulties of small and medium-sized enterprises and the people’s economy.” The People Power Party’s position is that it will re-present the proposal in the plenary session to be held on the 1st of next month.
