She was born in Korea and lived there until elementary school, moving to Canada with her family at the age of 12. The film was made based on the experiences of director Song. It depicts what happens when Na-young (Greta Lee), who lives in New York, and Hae-seong (Teo Yoo), her first love when she was twelve, meet in New York.
The film has been nominated for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay at the 96th Academy Awards, which will be held on the 10th of next month (local time), and also won the Best New Director Award. at the 76th Directors Guild of America (DGA).
