Korean Medical Association Emergency Committee Stands Firm, Refuses Negotiations with Government – Latest Update

The Emergency Response Committee of the Korean Medical Association has once again confirmed that it has no intention of entering into negotiations unless the government’s attitude changes.

The Emergency Committee of the Korean Medical Association issued a press release this morning stating that there are people agitating that “the current Emergency Committee of the Korean Medical Association is trying to quickly put an end to this situation through behind-the-scenes negotiations with the government before May”, and this is absolutely not true.

He added that the emergency committee has no intention of negotiating with the government and will take strong action against unfounded slander and false incitement.

The emergency committee also expressed dissatisfaction with President-elect Lim Hyun-taek of the Medical Association, who had previously hoped to become chairman of the emergency committee, saying he had provided false information to the media and had gone so far as to ask the dissolution of the emergency committee.

Furthermore, according to the legislation, the mid-term dissolution of the emergency committee of the Korean Medical Association can only occur through a resolution of the general meeting of the Representative Council of the Korean Medical Association, and since the remaining period of activity is sunny about three weeks, he explained that he will work to ensure that the new executive branch of the Korean Medical Association can permanently take over the work of the emergency committee.
