KOTRA announced on the 9th that it would hold the ‘2022 Global Medical Equipment Export Conference’ (GMEP 2022) online from the 10th to the 11th.

This conference was prepared in conjunction with the ‘International Medical Equipment and Hospital Equipment Exhibition’ (KIMES 2022), the largest medical equipment exhibition in Korea, held at COEX, Gangnam-gu, Seoul from the 10th to the 14th.

430 buyers from 45 countries around the world participate in the export conference to exchange with 192 Korean companies in the fields of digital health care, medical equipment, dental equipment, and medical supplies.

Due to the spread of Omicron mutation, it will be conducted online, and companies will use the video consultation room provided in the exhibition hall to consult with buyers from overseas.

On the 10th, the ‘Global Medical Device Conference’ will be held together at the COEX Grand Conference Hall.

It is a place to showcase the innovative medical technology of Korean companies, looking at the future of the rapidly changing medical device industry, including the convergence of information technology (IT) such as artificial intelligence (AI) diagnosis technology and digital therapeutics.

Medtronic, the world’s largest medical device maker, is giving a keynote presentation under the theme of ‘The era of digital transformation, the future of the medical device industry’.

In addition, domestic companies Hippo TNC and Waysen, which won the Innovation Award at ‘CES 2022’ held earlier this year, will introduce digital treatment for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and AI-based gastrointestinal endoscopic image analysis technology, respectively.

In addition, SK C&C, MediBloc, and Choice Technology will introduce AI diagnostic technology, blockchain-based medical information system, and wireless temperature measurement wearable medical devices.

KOTRA plans to support overseas market promotion by producing promotional videos of Korean companies’ new technologies and new products introduced at the conference.
