The ⁤Kremlin stated Tuesday that it ⁢shares President Donald Trump’s opinion that Russia’s removal from the G8 in 2014 was a⁣ “mistake.” However, Moscow now considers the G8 format too have little practical significance for Russia.Furthermore, the Kremlin views ‍the current G7 configuration as “useless.”

Trump has been critical of the Obama and Trudeau administrations for excluding Russia, arguing that if he had been president then, the russia-Ukraine war might have been avoided. He called the ⁢decision to ⁢exclude Russia a “serious mistake.”

speaking at the G7 summit Monday, trump said, “about nine years ago, Russia was excluded, ⁣something I believe was a serious mistake…If I was the president 4 years ago, we would not have a war right now.”
