The Brighton punk duo Lambrini Girls have withdrawn from their scheduled appearance at the Coachella festival and rescheduled their North American headline tour. The decision follows an announcement that singer and guitarist Phoebe Lunny sustained a neck fracture and an acute brain injury.

The band revealed the news via an Instagram post on April 8, 2026, after they were observed missing from the festival line-up. Lunny explained that the accident occurred in Australia and was initially misdiagnosed, resulting in a delay in receiving proper treatment.

According to the band’s statement, Lunny is currently under medical orders that prohibit her from flying or performing for a period of six weeks.

Touring and Performance Updates

While the North American dates have been moved, the duo confirmed that their scheduled performances in the United Kingdom and Europe, beginning in late May 2026, will proceed as planned.

We have to pull out of Coachella and reschedule our whole American headline tour. Long story short: I fractured my neck and have an acute brain injury.

In her statement, Lunny expressed regret over missing the festival and noted that the severity of the injuries made the cancellation unavoidable.

If it was a broken leg, I would do a Dave Grohl and play it. This isn’t something we are taking lightly and we are really sad. We hope and pray there’s some universe we get to play next year instead.

Addressing their American ticket holders, Lunny mentioned that making space for subversion and resistance is at the core of what this band is about, specifically referencing the current political climate in the United States.

Lunny concluded the announcement by stating that while their hands are tied for now due to the nature of the injuries to her neck and brain, she expects a speedy recovery.

Career Context

The announcement comes as the duo continues to build momentum following the 2025 release of their debut album, Who Let The Dogs Out. The record received critical acclaim, including a five-star review from NME, which described the work as loud, raw, and impossible to ignore.

Career Context

The band also recently released a single titled Cult Of Celebrity, a track that takes aim at corruption among the global elite.
