Lawrence Expands Jayhawk Watershed Project Construction Starting Monday

The City of Lawrence will expand construction for the Jayhawk Watershed project starting Monday, according to a city spokesperson. This phase will affect traffic on Tennessee Street and 7th Street, as well as Watson Park, the official said.

The project, which aims to improve stormwater management and reduce flooding in the area, entered its second phase on July 1, 2026, as confirmed by the city’s public works department.
