Jakarta – A lecturer at Islamic University of Makassar (UIM) in South Sulawesi,Amal Said,has expressed hope that the case involving him spitting at a supermarket cashier can be resolved through mediation and family discussions.
The Incident
Amal Said,a lecturer at UIM,allegedly spat at a cashier at a supermarket in Makassar. The incident sparked public outcry and prompted a police inquiry. According to Detik.com, Said maintains his innocence, stating, “Seven people were there in a queue that was already empty. It’s not true that I jumped in,” he explained.
Legal Status and Resolution Hopes
The case is currently under investigation by the Makassar Police. Said expressed his desire for an amicable resolution, hoping the matter can be settled through family discussions rather than proceeding through the formal legal process. He believes a family-based approach would be more constructive in addressing the situation.
