Lee and An, side by side today, side by side… Lee Jae-myung is Gyeyang, Ahn Cheol-soo is Bundang

Lee Jae-myung, a standing adviser to the Democratic Party, and Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the presidential takeover committee, will be running side by side in the June 1st by-election for the National Assembly on the 8th. Lee officially announces his candidacy in Gyeyang, Incheon, and Ahn in Bundangap, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

Advisor Lee Jae-myung held a press conference at 11 a.m. on the same day at the Gyeyangsan outdoor performance hall in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon to reveal his intentions to run for office. This is the first time Lee has appeared in public after the election, 59 days after the disbanding ceremony of the presidential election committee on March 10.

Earlier, on the 6th, the Democratic Party’s Emergency Response Committee strategically nominated this advisor to Gyeyang, Incheon. In addition, I requested Lee to serve as the general election chairman, and Lee agreed to this. Gyeyang-eul, Incheon, was vacated by Song Yeong-gil, the Democratic Party’s candidate for Seoul mayor, who had won a fifth term, and Song’s run for Seoul mayor.

On the previous day (the 7th), advisor Lee pledged on Facebook, “I will do my best to win the victory with all my strength along with the Democratic candidates who are running a difficult election for a better future for the people.” On the same day, in the internet fan cafe ‘Jaemyung’s Village’, he repeatedly announced his intention to run for president, saying, “I will trust the people and jump into the sea of ​​public sentiment.”

Chairman Ahn Cheol-soo will hold a press conference to run for Bundangap in the June 1 by-election at 2:30 pm at the National Assembly. It’s been two days since I officially announced my candidacy on the 6th, saying, “I’m going to throw myself away to win the elections in the metropolitan area including Gyeonggi-do as well as in Bundang-gap.”

Chairman Ahn also met with reporters after attending the opening ceremony of the election office for Seongnam city councilor candidate Park Jong-gak the day before (the 7th), saying, “Now that the transition committee work is over, I will also register as a candidate.”

Chairman Ahn said, “Bundang is a place that has a deep connection with me. AhnLab was the first company to build an office building when it was a wasteland,” he said. “I am proud that I played a role in the development of Bundang. I want to work hard so that Bundang can develop further,” he emphasized.

Chairman Ahn is expected to register as a candidate for the People’s Strength on the next day, the 9th. The People’s Power 6/1 Re-Election Nomination Management Committee held a meeting on the same day and decided to receive additional registrations of candidates from Gyeyang-eul, Incheon and Bundang-gap, Gyeonggi, by the 9th.
