Mr Namwook responded: “I knew the Wirye development project was a commitment made by the mayor.” This is in contrast to Rep. Lee’s position that “the Wirye development project was an effort announced to be abandoned in May 2013, so there was no reason to receive reports thereafter.”
Mr. Namwook said: “At the time, Mr. Yoo said, ‘If (the Wirye development) proceeds again and Seongnam City or Dogaeggong makes a profit and builds rental apartments, it will be beneficial to (Seongnam Mayor Lee Jae-myung) re-election.”” Rep. Lee asked, “Isn’t that a commitment?” and Namwook replied, “I knew it was a commitment at the time.” He replied, “Both Daejangdong and Wirye were commitments.”

When the court asked Mr. Namwook if he remembered specific comments or conversations, Mr. Namwook said: “From what I remember, I proposed a plan that was practically impossible and (Mr. Yoo) really liked it. “The word promise was also mentioned,” he said.
During this process, in November last year, CEO Lee directly stated his position, saying: “I officially declared the abandonment of the development of Wirye, which was a commitment” and “Since I have given up my commitment, there is no ‘it was necessary to maintain it’. out.”
Meanwhile, the court said that day: “Future trials will continue until 7pm.” The aim is to speed up the examination of witnesses and speed up the trial.
