Amid the results of an audit by the Board of Audit and Inspection that Seongnam City committed a fraudulent act of driving profits to the private sector at the time of Baekhyeon-dong development, Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Jae-myung countered this head-on.
In a statement today, Assemblyman Lee Jae-myung’s office claimed, “The change of use of Baekhyeon-dong is that Seongnam City has fulfilled the requirements of the Park Geun-hye government according to the law.”
“At that time, the Park Geun-hye government (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Food Research Institute) sent an official letter 24 times a year, requesting that the site in Baekhyeon-dong, which the Food Research Institute relocated, be changed to a quasi-residential site.”
“The Park Geun-hye government’s request was denied due to concerns about excessive profit attribution, but the Park Geun-hye government granted the request according to the law as a condition for public interest repayment because the Park Geun-hye government donated 24,943 square meters of R&D site worth 100 billion won in Seongnam.” explained.
The office of the House of Representatives said, “If Seongnam City considers it a preference for fulfilling the government’s request, then the Park Geun-hye administration, who requested the change of use of Baekhyeon-dong and implemented it, is a crime of forcing preferential treatment. Ramen, we will face criticism that fairness has been lost.”
Earlier, the Board of Audit and Inspection announced today that Seongnam City had committed fraud to drive profits to private operators during the development of the site for the Korea Food Research Institute in Baekhyeon-dong.
