The arrest warrant for a Gangnam plastic surgeon accused of providing drugs to actor Lee Sun-gyun (48) through the manager of an entertainment bar was dismissed by the court.

On the 27th, Incheon District Court Chief Judge Lee Gyu-hoon, in charge of warrants, dismissed the arrest warrant for Mr. A (42), a plastic surgeon, who was suspected of psychotropic drugs under the Narcotics Control Act, after conducting a pre-arrest interrogation (substantive warrant review). Judge Lee stated the reason for dismissal, saying, “It is difficult to acknowledge the need for detention considering the degree of explanation of the crime, the room for dispute, the progress of the investigation, and the suspect’s residence, occupation, and family relationships.”

Previously, on the 9th, the police conducted a search and seizure of Mr. A’s home and the hospital run by Mr. A, and secured and analyzed cell phones and hospital medical records. Mr. A is accused of providing drugs to Mr. Lee and others through B (29, female), the manager of a Gangnam entertainment establishment. After Mr. A left the warrant review court on this day, he did not give any answers to reporters’ questions such as “Do you admit to giving drugs to the female director of the entertainment bar?” and “How many times did you provide drugs to the female director?”

It was discovered that Mr. B, who was previously arrested and indicted, worked at a Gangnam entertainment establishment and became friends with celebrities, and that he provided his home to Mr. Lee as a place to use drugs.

Currently, there are 10 people under investigation or internal investigation by the Incheon Police Agency on drug-related charges, including Mr. A, actor Lee, and singer G-Dragon (35, real name Kwon Ji-yong).
