Lenovo Unveils Motorola Bendy: A Concept Smartphone That Wraps Around the Wrist

Lenovo Unveils Revolutionary Motorola Bendy Smartphone Concept

At the recent Lenovo Tech World 2023 event, Lenovo’s subsidiary, Motorola, showcased their groundbreaking Bendy concept smartphone. This innovative device is designed with a flexible OLED display that can bend around the wrist, reminiscent of a similar concept introduced by Lenovo in 2016.

While the previous model, released just seven years ago, could transform into a bracelet-like shape, emitting a distinct squeaking sound during the process, the latest prototype offers even more impressive transformations. Furthermore, the back of the device is equipped with orange fabric and a magnet, ensuring it stays securely on the arm without any discomfort or risk of falling off.

However, the introduction of folding smartphones brings forth unresolved concerns, such as how to handle phone calls and the potential consequences of swift arm movements. Despite these challenges, The Verge expressed exhilaration at catching a glimpse of the old Motorola spirit in this cutting-edge concept. They eagerly await the return of flexible phones seven years later.

As the technological landscape continues to evolve, Lenovo’s Bendy concept smartphone pushes the boundaries of innovation, captivating tech enthusiasts with its versatility and potential.

Bendy is a smartphone based on an OLED display that bends to wrap around the wrist, similar to the one introduced by Lenovo in 2016.

Only from 7 years ago the model could be changed into a bracelet shape and make a squeaking sound when transforming, but the prototype of the new model allows even more various transformations. Also, the back is said to be equipped with orange fabric and a magnet so it won’t fall off the arm. It is said that there was no creaking sound.
