‘Lilo & Stitch’ Sequel? Director Floats Animated Series Idea
Following the box office success of the live-action Lilo & Stitch remake, director Dean Fleischer Camp has
addressed the possibility of a sequel. The 2025 film, starring maia Kealoha as Lilo and Chris Sanders as
Stitch, mirrors the original 2002 animated movie, where Lilo adopts an alien “dog” named Stitch, who is actually
an illegal genetic experiment created by Jumba Jookiba (Zach Galifianakis). The film sets the stage for a
continuation, given Jumba created hundreds of similar experiments.
Camp told Variety he would consider returning for a Lilo & Stitch sequel “if it was the right
idea.” He also floated the idea of an animated spinoff, possibly as a TV series.
Variety: You know, there’s an entire Stichverse out there. Would you want to do the sequel or
anything else if the prospect presented itself?Fleischer Camp: If it was the right idea.I wouldn’t do it just as there’s a new market
demand for it. But I also really like the idea of doing an animated spin-off as an episodic or limited
series.
Fleischer Camp’s comments suggest that any animated spinoff would likely align with the continuity of the
live-action movie, rather than the established animated universe. The original Lilo & Stitch was followed
by several sequel movies and a TV series centered on Lilo and Stitch finding Jumba’s other experiments scattered
across Hawaii.

What’s next
The direction Disney chooses for a potential Lilo & Stitch sequel will likely influence Fleischer Camp’s
involvement. An animated series coudl offer a fresh take on the beloved franchise.
