Lima Expressa Reduces Tolls on Via de Evitamiento and Línea Amarilla
A new toll rate of S/ 6.30 for all vehicles traveling on the Vía de Evitamiento (Avoidance Highway) and the Línea Amarilla expressway came into effect today, February 3, 2026.
The update represents a reduction of S/ 0.30 from the previous rate of S/ 6.60, according to Lima Expresa, the concessionaire managing both roadways.
Economic Factors Behind the Reduction
Lima Expresa explained that the change is a result of the annual adjustment stipulated in the concession contract. This adjustment takes into account both inflation and the exchange rate of the dollar.
Unlike previous periods where toll prices tended to increase, this decrease is attributed to a technical formula considering the variation in inflation and the dollar exchange rate. The stability, and favorable performance, of the exchange rate – which closed at S/ 3.36 today – has allowed for a downward adjustment of the toll, benefiting users.
The last toll adjustment occurred in February 2023, raising the rate to S/ 6.60, a price that remained in effect through 2024 and 2025.
Contractual Basis for Toll Adjustments
The annual update of the toll rate is based on a formula established in the concession contract, originally signed in 2009 between the Municipality of Lima and the concession company. This mechanism aims to maintain the financial balance of the concession by adjusting the amount according to inflation and the behavior of the dollar.
Lima Expresa adjusts the toll rate based on inflation and the variation of the dollar, as stipulated in the concession contract.
Services Provided with Toll Payment
Payment of the toll provides not only the right to use the road, but also finances a series of services and operations designed to ensure safety and quality in transit.
The toll on the Vía de Evitamiento and Línea Amarilla returned to its previous level after having risen to S/ 6.60 in February 2023.
