‘Freakier Friday’ Trailer: Curtis and Lohan face New Body Swap

Get ready for more mayhem as Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan return in Freakier Friday,hitting theaters Aug. 8. This time, the body swap fun extends to LohanS character’s daughter, played by Julia Butters, and her prospective stepdaughter, portrayed by Sophia Hammons.
The Freaky Friday sequel finds Lohan’s character preparing for her wedding to a British man (Manny Jacinto), a decision opposed by her daughter. A psychic, played by vanessa Bayer, predicts another body swap at the bachelorette party, leading to intergenerational chaos. The stepdaughter ends up in the grandma’s body, while Lohan and her daughter switch places.
The trailer teases comedic moments, including the kids plotting to derail the wedding while inhabiting the bodies of their mom and step-grandma. Lohan, as her daughter, struggles to appear sexy, and Curtis, as the step-granddaughter, develops a crush on a teenage boy who happens to be her therapist’s son.
nisha Ganatra, known for The High note and Late Night, directed the film.Jordan Weiss, creator of Dollface, penned the screenplay. Mark Harmon and Stephen Tobolowsky are among the original cast members returning for this new installment of Freaky friday.

Curtis also spoke with The New York Times in 2023 about the Freaky Friday sequel. She said that fan interest during the Halloween Ends press tour prompted her to contact Disney, saying, “It feels like there’s a movie to be made.”
