Lisa has released her solo EP titled Press Play, with music platform data showing that 56.4 percent of the album’s credits belong to producers and engineers with Grammy Awards history, tenasia.co.kr reported on October 23. The release follows Lisa’s win for Best Pop at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27.
Spotify Credits Analysis Reveals Grammy-Linked Production Team
TenAsia conducted a full review of the album credits published on Spotify following the release at midnight on October 23. The Press Play credits list 31 songwriters and producers alongside eight technical engineers.
Among the production staff, nine producers and three engineers hold previous Grammy wins. When combining winners and nominees, at least 22 of the 39 total creators possess direct ties to the recording academy.
The calculation excluded producers whose company profiles mention Grammy nominations without official verification in academy records. Lisa herself served as the main producer across all six tracks on the EP.

Vocal Production and Mastering Assignments
Grammy-winning engineers managed the vocal production, mixing, and mastering for every song on the record. Manny Marroquin handled mixing after accumulating 14 Grammy wins working with major pop acts.
Mastering engineer Randy Merrill contributed nine Grammy wins through projects with Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, and Lady Gaga. Vocal producer Kuk Harrell earned five Grammy wins working on Rihanna singles including Work and Umbrella.
Cultural Identity and Tracklist Composition
The EP features six tracks, beginning with the pre-released song SaWaDiKa. The opening track incorporates Thai cultural references into the lyrics, mentioning Bangkok, Thai baht currency, and tuk-tuk transit.
Lisa discussed the album’s creation during an appearance on NBC program The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in September. My roots (Thailand) to the present
shaped the music, she stated, adding that the project integrates Thai cultural elements.
The music video for SaWaDiKa features Muay Thai, traditional Thai garments, and the historic center of Bangkok. Additional tracks on the EP include V12, Cobra, Tarantino, Cut U Off, and Sweat.
Grammy Eligibility Timeline and Forthcoming Submission Rules
Industry observers link the heavy presence of Grammy-associated producers to positioning the solo release for consideration at the Grammy Awards within the next two to three years. The Press Play EP qualifies for submission to the 70th Grammy Awards scheduled for 2028. BTS previously announced a boycott affecting participation in the 69th Grammy Awards in 2027, though it is not known whether Lisa’s work has been submitted.
