Apple has scheduled an in-person hardware event for October 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time in Los Angeles under the title Pro and tell.
The upcoming showcase follows recent product launches and points toward updates across its Mac and iPad lineups, including a long-rumored touchscreen laptop model.
The First Touchscreen and OLED MacBook Pro
Rumors regarding an OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro have circulated since early 2023. If introduced at the event, it would mark the first touchscreen laptop and the first OLED laptop from Apple. The device is expected to feature a Dynamic Island interface element similar to the iPhone, though it will not be an iPad hybrid. Anticipated software touches include a screen magnification effect and new gesture controls in native apps.
Processor Upgrades and Physical Redesigns
Alongside the potential touchscreen model, base configurations of the MacBook Pro are expected to receive an M6 processor upgrade following the chip’s debut in the Mac Mini in August. These base laptops may also feature a slight physical redesign incorporating a hole-punch style camera, though they are expected to come with a price increase as component shortages reverberate through the Apple lineup.
October 28 Event Details and iMac Hardware Changes
The iMac all-in-one desktop is also expected to get an M6 update, nearly two years after its last revision. The desktop refresh is not expected to bring real changes beyond that, though new color options are anticipated, mirroring the updates introduced with the M4 model.

iPad Mini OLED Transition
In the tablet category, the iPad Mini is reported to receive an OLED screen upgrade, moving away from the LCD panels that have traditionally equipped the device outside of the iPad Pro line. This display update is projected to add $100 to the cost and accompany a processor jump from the A17 to the A20 that debuted with the iPhone 18.
Ecosystem Expansion in Los Angeles
The October 28 gathering in Los Angeles will confirm whether these hardware revisions and long-anticipated display shifts join Apple’s product lineup.
