Liton Das Shatters Records: Overtakes Mushfiqur as Bangladesh’s Highest Scorer
Liton Das Breaks Records with Exceptional Performance
Liton Das is making headlines with his remarkable century and world record partnership with Mehdi Hasan Miraj. However, his impressive performance doesn’t stop there. He has also set a new record for the most dismissals by a Bangladeshi cricketer in a Test series.
Das achieved a total of 12 dismissals in the two-match Test series against Pakistan, consisting of 8 catches and 4 stumps. This feat surpasses the previous record held by Mushfiq Rahim, who had 11 dismissals in a three-match series against Zimbabwe in 2014.
Although Das’s record is impressive, it’s worth noting that Kamran Akmal holds the world record for dismissals in a two-match Test series. The Pakistani wicketkeeper made 16 dismissals (15 catches and one stump) against the West Indies in 2005.
After a disappointing batting performance in the Rawalpindi Test, Bangladesh bounced back with a world record partnership between Miraj and Liton Das. Das played a stunning innings of 138 runs, forming a 165-run partnership for the seventh wicket after losing six wickets for just 26 runs.
