The 1994 film “Little Giants,” a pee wee football story about two brothers in competition, starred Ed O’Neill as Kevin O’Shea and Rick Moranis as his brother, Danny. After Kevin refuses to let Danny’s daughter, Becky, play on his team, Danny creates a rival team, the Giants. The film, directed by Duwayne Dunham and written by James ferguson, holds a 6.5/10 rating on IMDB.
Ed O’Neill, now 79, played college football at Youngstown State University and had a tryout with the Pittsburgh steelers in 1969. He didn’t make the team,which was then coached by Chuck Noll and featured players like Joe Greene and L.C.Greenwood. O’Neill then became a schoolteacher before his acting career took off with “Married with Children,” where he often referenced his high school football glory days. O’Neill, a black belt in brazilian ju-jitsu, last appeared in the 2020 movie “The Last Shift.”
Rick Moranis, born in Canada on April 18, 1953, is known for roles in “Honey I Shrunk the Kids,” “Ghostbusters,” “Spaceballs,” and “The Flintstones.” Moranis married Ann Belsky in 1986; she passed away in 1991. His last film role was in 2006’s “Brother Bear 2.” He has also contributed voice work to video games and was part of the Second City TV duo, Bob and Doug McKenzie.
Shawna Waldron, who played Becky “Icebox” O’Shea, made her film debut in “Little Giants” at age 12. Now 43, her most recent film credit is 2016’s “Dead Man Rising.” She also appeared in “Police Guys” and has produced three films, winning awards for her work on “Police Guys” and her screenplay “To Kill a Mockumentary.”

devon Sawa, another Canadian actor, was 16 during the filming of “Little Giants.” in 2001, he received a Saturn Award for his performance in “Final Destination.” Sawa continues to be active in acting, with roles in two 2024 movies and “Heart Eyes” released this year.
