Loans for farmers – the government delayed their repayment

The government has decided to extend government portfolio guarantees for lending to farms that have lost potential collateral property due to hostilities. The corresponding resolution No. 477, prepared by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers at a regular meeting.

According to the document, farms that received loans before 2022 and are located in temporarily occupied territories or those where active hostilities are ongoing can defer their return until December 31, 2025.

Applications from farmers for continued lending will be accepted through the State Agrarian Register.

The start of submitting applications for support will be announced additionally on the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

In addition, the Government has almost doubled the limit on loans for livestock producers.

Government Decree No. 473 increases the credit limit under the “Available Loans 5-7-9” program for farmers involved in livestock farming from UAH 90 million to UAH 150 million.

Financial support is provided to enterprises that do not produce in a zone of active hostilities or in temporarily occupied territories.

Agricultural lending to Ukrainian entrepreneurs in the area of ​​agriculture has reached UAH 24 billion since the beginning of 2024. 36.5% of agricultural lending are loans under the “Available Loans 5-7-9” program.
