‘Love Island’ Contestant Questioned in Phone Theft Probe

London — Dejon Noel-Williams, a 26-year-old semi-pro footballer slated to appear on ITV’s “Love Island,” was recently interviewed by police regarding a reported phone theft. This marks the second contestant from the upcoming series to face police scrutiny.
Authorities investigated a March 16 report of a robbery where a phone was taken. Noel-williams and Harlain Mbayo, a Kettering FC footballer, voluntarily spoke with officers. The phone was recovered and returned to the victim. Police took no further action against Noel-Williams.
the incident reportedly arose from a dispute over payment for food and an Uber ride. ITV stated they conduct background checks and speak with contestants before the show.
Noel-Williams told reporters, “I was never arrested. I voluntarily spoke to the police to clarify the truth about what happened in this incident, with no further action taken.”
