Portuguese investigators have returned to Praia da luz in southern Portugal, near where British girl Madeleine McCann disappeared in 2007.Several police vehicles were seen accessing a dirt road as the renewed search for clues in the Maddie McCann disappearance began.
The current search, expected to last until Friday, stems from a warrant issued by German authorities. They suspect Christian Brückner, a German national, in the death of Madeleine McCann. The area includes at least 20 small rural properties with wells, cisterns and ruins.
Brückner, who was living in the area at the time of McCannS disappearance, is currently imprisoned in Germany for sexual offenses. german authorities reportedly lack sufficient evidence to formally accuse Brückner, who is nearing the end of his sentance.
