Major disturbance of the national flag in the controversy over the appointment of 尹President’s security chief… No way

“It’s a mistake I can’t make as a public official”, “It doesn’t make sense” outrage
Controversy over the establishment of a new police station: “The prosecution is also a prosecutor’s office in the Ministry of Justice”

On the 23rd, President Yoon Seok-yeol criticized the controversy over the police overturning the appointment of the police chief, saying, “It is a very serious national flag disturbance, or an absurd mistake that cannot be made as a public official.”

President Yoon met with reporters as he went to work at the Yongsan Oval Office in the morning of the same day, saying, “The president has not yet received a presidential sanction, and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security has reviewed it again and has not given an opinion to the president. It went out like it happened,” he said.

President Yoon said, “The person who was recommended by the police to the Ministry of Public Administration and Security was just appointed.”

“It’s nonsense, and in a way, this could be a national flag disorder,” he said.

President Yoon added, “I saw this kind of absurd situation and the media said that some kind of public security personnel had been overturned, but it has never been overturned.”

On the other hand, President Yoon countered the point that the independence of police investigations could be undermined by the establishment of a police department within the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, saying, “Even prosecutors that require more neutrality and independence than the police have a prosecutor’s office in the Ministry of Justice.”

President Yoon said, “I believe that the Cabinet Office, which is in charge of public security and police affairs, will provide the necessary command and control over it (the police), and that independence or neutrality will of course be done in accordance with the constitution and laws and principles.” He added.
