The abandoned buildings, located on Carretera Arta Road, have become blighted by graffiti and litter. A bar, lottery office, and guest services once thrived there. The presence of squatters has raised concerns among residents and visitors alike, impacting the areaS appeal.

The squatters allegedly have access to utilities, leading to frequent calls to social services and the police. Loli, one of the squatters, estimates that around 20 people reside in the abandoned area.
“Upstairs, there are people who have caused problems, and the police have had to come, but most of us are normal, quiet people, workers, or sick people like me,” Loli told the Majorca Daily Bulletin.
Loli added that drug-related issues and fights frequently enough prompt calls for security and social services intervention.
