Man Dies: Three-Vehicle Collision Results in Fatal Week After Incident

Fatal Collision in Ballymena Claims Life of local Man
An 80-year-old man from the Ballymena area has died following a multi-vehicle collision in County Antrim. Robert Russell Bamber, affectionately known as Roy by family and friends, passed away in hospital on Friday, September 19th, 2025, after being injured in the incident.
Details of the incident
The collision occurred on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at approximately 7:05 PM on the Moorfields Road in Ballymena, specifically at its junction with the Tully Road. Three vehicles were involved: a blue Toyota Aygo, a white Citroen Berlingo, and a white Audi A3. Mr. Bamber was the driver of the Toyota Aygo.
Following the crash, Mr.Bamber was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Despite medical intervention,he sadly succumbed to those injuries several days later.
Police Investigation
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Inspector Cherith Adair has requested assistance from the public.
