Man Pushed Off Observation Deck at Amanohashidate Observatory in Japan: Serious Injuries Reported

The man lost his balance and immediately fell, and people gathered around him.

This is what happened around 2:20pm on the 15th at the Amanohashidate Observatory in Miyazu City, Kyoto, Japan.

According to local media such as Fuji TV, the victim who lost his balance and fell was a man in his 50s.

He fell down a 15-metre cliff and suffered serious injuries, including cuts, but fortunately, his life was reported to be out of danger.

The perpetrator is an acquaintance of the victim, and is said to have stated in a police investigation “I did it as a joke.”

There is a high possibility that the offender will be charged with causing bodily harm, and in Japan, causing bodily harm can lead to up to 15 years in prison or a fine of up to 500,000 yen.

Amanohashidate Observatory, the site of the accident, is a tourist attraction in Japan. It is famous for the fact that if you bend down and look at the scenery below the cliff between your legs, the trees a pine tree looks like a dragon rising into the sky.
