Leafs Shuffle Lineup, Tap Hildeby for Back-to-Back Game Against Sabres
Toronto, ON – The Toronto Maple Leafs are making some adjustments to their lineup as they prepare to face the Buffalo Sabres in the second game of a back-to-back set. Head coach Craig Berube announced that forwards Ryan Reaves and Nick Robertson will be inserted into the lineup, along with defenseman Phillippe Myers.
This means forwards Pontus Holmberg and Fraser Minten, and also defenseman Conor Timmins, will be sitting out the game.
In goal, Dennis Hildeby will get the nod against Buffalo. This marks the third career start for the 23-year-old netminder, who currently holds a 1-1 record with a 4.03 goals-against average and a .869 save percentage.
Hildeby’s call-up comes on the heels of an injury to backup goaltender Anthony Stolarz. Stolarz,who suffered a lower-body injury against the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday,is expected to miss at least the next two games. The Leafs officially placed Stolarz on injured reserve Sunday, retroactive to December 12th.
This means Stolarz won’t be eligible to return until Friday’s game against the Sabres in Buffalo.Stolarz has been a reliable presence for the Leafs this season, posting a 9-5-2 record with a 2.15 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.
