George Lucas previously described the complexity of the climactic rebel attack on the Death Star, noting that the production had 40,000 feet of dialogue footage of pilots saying this and that which Marcia Lucas had to cull and integrate with the action sequences.

Family Statement
Lucas’s filmography extended across several landmark productions. In addition to the original 1977 film, she served as an editor on the 1983 sequel Return of the Jedi. She also worked on earlier projects directed by George Lucas, including THX 1138 and American Graffiti.
Her expertise was also utilized by director Martin Scorsese during the 1970s. Lucas was part of the editing teams for Taxi Driver, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, and New York, New York.
Marcia Lucas was married to filmmaker George Lucas from 1969 to 1983.
