European Stock Markets Open Negatively Amid Fed and BoE Meetings
European stock markets kicked off the day on a negative note, with investors adopting a cautious approach as they await the outcome of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) and Bank of England (BoE) meetings.
The STOXX 600 Index began trading at 514.71 points, experiencing a decline of 1.24 points or 0.24%.
Meanwhile, the CAC-40 index on the French stock market opened at 7,432.17 points, down 33.08 points or 0.44%. The DAX index on the German stock market also started the day in the red, opening at 18,621.78 points, down 77.62 points or 0.42%.
Market participants are keeping a close eye on the US Federal Reserve’s (Fed) monetary policy meeting, scheduled to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday (September 17-18). The market consensus is that the Fed will cut interest rates during this meeting.
