Marvel Studios has an exciting lineup for 2025. This year, fans enjoyed a few offerings, such as Echo and Deadpool and Wolverine. The last show, Agatha All Along, aired on Disney Plus.

What If…? season 3 is set to premiere this holiday season. The animated series X-Men ’97 also received positive reviews earlier this year. However, several anticipated titles faced delays. Many of these will debut next year, making it a significant year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Disappointingly, X-Men ’97 season 2 will not premiere in 2025. Disney confirmed this in a recent press release. Fans had hoped for the second season after its successful first run, which aired ten episodes. However, reports suggested that the season has been pushed to 2026 due to changes in the story and scripts.

Marvel Studios has not officially verified these reports, but a promotional video did not list X-Men ’97 for 2025. This absence indicated that the rumors might be accurate, leading to the belief that the season will indeed release later.

Although X-Men ’97 won’t be available next year, Marvel fans can still enjoy new content. The third season of What If…? will debut soon. Other upcoming titles include Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man on January 29, Eyes of Wakanda on August 6, and Marvel Zombies, which will release on October 3.

Though the wait for X-Men ’97 season 2 will be longer than expected, actor Ross Marquand, who voices Charles Xavier, hinted that the next season will be darker and more mature. Fans can look forward to the return of their favorite mutants, even if they must be patient for a little longer.
