A ⁢candid Critique from the⁤ former WWE Star

Matt Riddle has publicly voiced his reservations about CM⁤ Punk, offering a blunt assessment of ⁤the ⁤veteran ‍wrestler’s‍ current standing in the industry. Speaking on ⁢a ‍recent TMZ Sports podcast, Riddle didn’t shy away from expressing his concerns, despite ⁣acknowledging Punk’s continued drawing power.

Riddle stated that sources within the wrestling world-specifically, “good friends on⁣ the⁢ roster”-describe Punk as difficult to collaborate with. He conceded that Punk’s ability to attract audiences and generate revenue is undeniable, noting that ⁤”he packs an ⁢arena,he sells tickets,he sells merchandise.” He⁢ further observed that, ⁣especially under the new ownership of⁣ TKO, WWE appears primarily focused on⁤ financial results, which explains Punk’s continued presence. Despite this, Riddle maintained‍ he harbors “no ill will towards the man,” but questioned Punk’s current in-ring capabilities.

Concerns Over ⁣In-Ring Performance

Beyond personality clashes, ⁤Riddle directly criticized Punk’s wrestling performance. ⁤ “I⁢ think his better‍ days of wrestling are way behind him,” Riddle asserted. ⁣he qualified this statement, acknowledging that athletes ⁣generally don’t improve indefinitely, stating, “I can tell you ⁣I’m not getting that much better ⁤or faster or stronger. ⁢I can tell you he’s definitely not either, especially with all the botches.” This ⁤suggests a perceived decline in Punk’s physical abilities and execution within the ring.

A Pattern ⁣of Directness

Riddle’s candidness isn’t‍ new. He ⁢has previously offered similar critical⁣ assessments of other prominent wrestlers, including Goldberg⁤ and Roman Reigns, establishing a pattern of speaking his mind irrespective of potential repercussions. Since his⁢ release from WWE in 2023, Riddle has been actively competing on⁢ the independent circuit‍ and currently holds the World Heavyweight Championship in Major League Wrestling (MLW).
