The Venezuelan singer-songwriters, sons of Latin pop icon Ricardo Montaner, have released “Hotel Caracas,” an album steeped in family collaboration and a return to their Venezuelan heritage. The album features their father, Ricardo Montaner, and brother-in-law, Camilo.
Ricky Montaner expressed pride in his family’s ability to uplift and inspire each other.growing up in Caracas, Mau and Ricky witnessed their father’s success firsthand, even joining him on stage. This experience,coupled with observing the sibling duo Servando & Florentino,showed them the possibilities of Latin music.
Mau Montaner described his father’s involvement in “Muriendo de Miedo” as a “full circle” moment, expressing gratitude for his support and influence.Despite their famous connection, Mau y Ricky worked diligently to earn their place in the music industry. Thay formed a songwriting collective with JonTheProducer and Camilo,penning hits for artists like Becky G,Natti Natasha,and Ricky Martin.
The brothers also co-wrote a song on Camilo’s recent album “Cuatro,” and their brother-in-law is featured on their song “Karma.”
Ricky montaner reflected on their early days with Mau, camilo, and JonTheProducer, marveling at their accomplishments. Mau added that these creative moments with loved ones were beautiful, leading to some of his favourite music.
“Hotel Caracas” represents a new chapter for Mau y Ricky, as it’s the first release on their label, Why Club Records, in partnership with Warner Music Latina. The album follows the expansion of their families; Mau and his wife, Sara Escobar, welcomed their first child, Apollo, in 2022, and Ricky married Argentine model Stefi Roitman. The album delves into themes of romance, heartbreak, and sex.
Ricky Montaner noted that marriage and starting families have provided a sense of security,allowing them to explore personal stories in their music. To promote “Hotel Caracas,” mau y Ricky are performing intimate Lobby Bar concerts and plan a tour later in the year.
Mau acknowledged the challenges of balancing fatherhood with his music career but cherishes the idea that his son will grow up with these songs. The album also signifies a reconnection with Venezuela, incorporating local slang and filming all 15 music videos there with a Venezuelan crew.
Mau said they needed to reconnect with their roots, feeling a sense of identity crisis. He described the experience of filming in Venezuela as healing and a way to represent the country’s beauty.

Mau y Ricky plan to tour in support of “Hotel Caracas,” bringing their blend of family, music, and Venezuelan pride to audiences across the U.S. and Latin America.
