Mauricio Vila, senator from the National Action Party (PAN), has requested an indefinite leave from his legislative duties starting November 20. The Senate will consider his request during a session scheduled for Wednesday at 2:00 PM.
In a statement, it was noted that Vila needs a few days to handle a personal matter. He plans to return to his Senate activities over the weekend after addressing this issue.
Vila took office as a senator in September of this year. He currently serves as the vice president of the Senate’s Directing Board. Vila Dosal does not have a substitute, as he was elected alongside Enrique Vargas del Villar, who secured his seat through a relative majority.
