The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Interior and Decentralization, Mohamed Mahfouz Ibrahim Ahmed, chaired today, Friday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the meeting of the joint technical committee between Mauritania and the European Union concerned with following up on the implementation of the declaration that establishes a partnership in the field of migration between the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the European Union.

The meeting was devoted to discussing the rationale for facilitating our citizens’ access to European Union visas of various types and levels, in the presence of an expert assigned by the European Union, who was dispatched to support the Joint Technical Committee.

The meeting concluded, after an in-depth discussion, by continuing to work to overcome all obstacles presented in the field of Mauritanian citizens obtaining European visas, including raising the ceiling on their numbers and accelerating the pace of obtaining them.
