McGriddles to Disappear from Hong Kong McDonald’s Menus by September

McGriddles, the popular breakfast item, debuted in Hong Kong in late July, sparking a buying frenzy. However, McDonald’s has announced that all branches in Hong Kong will gradually sell out of McGriddles by the end of September.

There are two types of McGriddles series available: the “Maple Sugar Pancake Pork Fillet and Egg Burger Set” and the “Maple Sugar Pancake Pork Fillet Burger Set”. The hamburger features a pancake crust, a bun with a McDonald’s logo printed on the bottom, and fillings that have captured the hearts of many.

When McGriddles launched on July 27, many people queued outside McDonald’s branches as early as 4 a.m. The waiting time for picking up food exceeded an hour in many branches, with some experiencing temporary delays due to high demand for mobile services. By the afternoon, some stores had sold out of McGriddles, leaving many customers disappointed.

The prices of McGriddles in Hong Kong are as follows: the pork fillet and egg hot pancake burger is sold for 25.5 yuan, while the package price with hash browns and drinks is 36.5 yuan. The pork fillet hot pancake burger is sold for 21.5 yuan, with a package price of 35 yuan. McGriddles are only available during the breakfast period, from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. every day.

McGriddles have been sold in Japan in the past, attracting many tourists to try them at McDonald’s Japan. Originating in the United States in 2003, McGriddles are now available in Japan, the United States, South Korea, Singapore, Canada, and other countries.

McGriddles: A Global Breakfast Phenomenon

McGriddles have gained a significant following worldwide, with many fans eagerly awaiting their return to menus. While their discontinuation in Hong Kong may come as a disappointment to some, McDonald’s has hinted that McGriddles will return in the future.
