Six Horses Die in McHenry County Barn Fire

A devastating barn fire in McHenry County‍ late Sunday resulted in the deaths of six​ horses. The Harvard Fire Protection District reported that crews were dispatched ⁤to the 19100⁣ block of Crowley Road in unincorporated Harvard just​ before midnight after receiving⁢ reports of a⁣ barn fire ⁢with animals possibly trapped inside.

Firefighters arrived within 10 minutes to find ‌a 50-by-60 foot pole barn ⁤engulfed in flames,⁢ with the fire spreading ⁣to a larger ⁤barn nearby. The rural location and limited water access prompted officials to call ⁢for additional resources from ⁣neighboring fire departments.
