A Family Legacy Rooted in Beekeeping
To reach the meadery, one must navigate the rolling hills above Grand-Brassac, where fields of rapeseed stretch into the distance. It was here, at the end of a secluded path embraced by nature, that Thierry established her business, having acquired her first beehive in 1976. The area, known as Fonreal, or the king’s fountain, adds to the location’s mystique.
The labels and their manufacture are carried out by local knowledge. The cork caps are designed with bee wax.
Reservations Pouring in for 2027
According to Schomer, each bottle of mead can be cellared for about a decade, or enjoyed for several months after opening. The meadery is already accepting reservations for late 2026 and early 2027. “Generally, when a person ordered me once, it is back the year after,” Schomer said.

“I had a fig tree in the garden and I wanted to test: this mixture is called melomel,you can do it with any fruit,” Schomer said.
Moisto Medonaris has also received numerous gold medals at the general Agricultural competition in Paris. Along with producing mead for her own brand, Schomer also fulfills orders for beekeepers who then market it under their own labels.
