“The first victim is a young girl from the region,” confirmed the director of the Saniat R’mel regional hospital. “We are also seeing cases among older adults.”
The director expressed concern over the late stage at which many patients seek treatment. “In the early stages of the disease, expensive injections are required, which many low-income families cannot afford,” he told Hespress.
