Recognizing Exceptional Educators: Emma Hernandez, Provo Way Award Recipient

Emma Hernandez, a dedicated teacher at Wasatch School, was honored with the Provo Way Award last May for her outstanding contributions to the community. Her nominator, Noel Lewis, praised Emma’s unwavering positivity and commitment to going above and beyond for her students and colleagues.

The Provo City School District and Board of Education present the Provo Way Awards monthly to acknowledge the positive impact made by students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff in the community.

This month, we shine the spotlight on Emma Hernandez, an exemplary educator who embodies the spirit of community-driven learning. Her selfless approach to teaching has created a supportive environment where students and teachers alike feel valued and empowered.

Noel Lewis, Emma’s nominator, highlighted her exceptional qualities, saying, “She always goes the extra mile to make sure the kids feel loved, and that we, her coworkers, feel valued.” Emma’s dedication to fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity has made a lasting impact on her students and colleagues.
