On the 21st local time, French Prime Minister Michel Barnier officially formed a cabinet. The French presidential palace has announced the latest list of cabinet members. Among them, Sébastien Le Cornu is the Minister of Defense, Bruno Letaileau is the Minister of the Interior, Jean-Noël Barrot is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Rashida Dati is the Minister of Culture.
On the afternoon of September 5, local time, the French Prime Minister’s Office held a handover ceremony, and Michel Barnier officially succeeded Gabriel Attal as the French Prime Minister. Barnier, 73, belongs to the French right wing. He has served as a government minister several times and as a European Commissioner twice. Since 2016, he has served as the EU’s chief negotiator for the UK’s “Brexit” affairs.
