Mercedes-Benz is integrating its latest automotive technology and bespoke craftsmanship into a specialized S-Class model for the 2026 Masters Tournament. The initiative is part of a nearly two-decade partnership between the automaker and the tournament, blending high-end luxury with the brand’s most recent technical advancements.

The centerpiece of this collaboration is a one-of-a-kind S-Class created through the MANUFAKTUR program, the company’s high-end customization division. This specific vehicle is a tribute to Bernhard Langer, a two-time Masters champion and Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador. Although Langer’s final competitive appearance in the tournament occurred in 2025, he returns to Augusta National Golf Club in 2026 as a non-competing past champion.

Technical Evolution of the S-Class

The bespoke model arrives alongside a broader technological refresh of the S-Class flagship series. Production for the new S-Class is scheduled to begin in 2026 at the Sindelfingen plant, specifically within Factory 56, which is described as one of the most advanced assembly halls globally.

The 2026 S-Class represents a significant engineering overhaul, with more than 50 percent of the vehicle newly developed, updated, or refined. This update is the most comprehensive for a single S-Class generation to date, marking 140 years of innovation since Carl Benz invented the automobile in 1886.

Central to the new model’s intelligence is the Mercedes-Benz Operating System, or MB.OS. This supercomputer serves as the vehicle’s core architecture, integrating all systems into a single intelligent ecosystem. MB.OS powers every domain of the car and connects to the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud to manage vehicle functions.

The technological suite also includes the fourth-generation MBUX and MBUX Surround navigation, designed to provide an intuitive interface for the driver, and passengers.

Design and Hardware Innovations

The hardware updates for the 2026 S-Class focus on visual presence and lighting technology. The vehicle features next-generation twin-star DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps that utilize micro-LED technology to provide a larger, high-resolution field of illumination.

Other exterior refinements include a 20-percent larger illuminated grille and an optional illuminated standing Mercedes star on the hood. Internally, the vehicle introduces new drivetrains, updated suspension systems, and interior innovations focused on wellbeing, safety, and serenity.

The Masters Partnership and Community Impact

The presence of the bespoke S-Class at the 2026 Masters is part of a wider strategy to connect the brand’s heritage with modern innovation. To further honor Bernhard Langer, Mercedes-Benz created a MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure patron chair that matches the design of his bespoke S-Class.

Beyond the luxury showcase, Mercedes-Benz has expanded its role in the region for 2026. The company has become a Sustaining Partner of The Patch, a project aimed at the revitalization of the Augusta Municipal Golf Course to increase access to the sport outside of the tournament window.

This integration of a high-tech flagship vehicle, personalized craftsmanship, and community investment underscores the brand’s approach to luxury marketing for the 2026 season, utilizing the Masters as a platform to debut the capabilities of MB.OS and the MANUFAKTUR program.
