Mercedes Mone has vacated the APAC Women’s Championship, marking the end of her tenure as an active champion. The announcement was made by Mone on April 4, 2026, through her Mone Mag newsletter.
The decision to relinquish the title stemmed from logistical and budgetary disputes with the Malaysia-based promotion. According to Mone, the promotion was unable to provide the budget required to fly her out to defend the championship and declined to collaborate with other promotions to find an alternative solution.
Details of the Vacancy
Mone stated that the decision was finalized while she was in London. She explained that her team attempted to resolve the issue through various conversations and explored every available option to make the defense possible.

While I was in London, I had to make a tough call. I sent the Malaysia Championship back,My team and I really tried to make things work. We put in the effort, had the conversations, and explored every option. But at the end of the day, they told us they didn’t have the budget to fly me out and weren’t open to working with other promotions. That just didn’t align with the vision. So I made the decision to vacate the title.
Mone further noted that the experience highlighted the difficulties of professional partnerships in the industry, asserting that she chose to stand firm regarding her worth and the value she brings to the table.
A Dramatic Shift in Championship Status
The vacation of the APAC Women’s Championship means Mone currently holds zero active titles. This represents a significant decline from her peak in late 2025, during which she held thirteen titles simultaneously across several organizations, including:

- All Elite Wrestling (AEW)
- Ring of Honor (ROH)
- Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL)
- RevPro
- NJPW Strong
- Various promotions in Canada and Europe
During that period, Mone broke a nearly 30-year-old record for the most titles held at one time, a milestone previously held by Ultimo Dragon. In reference to this achievement, she adopted the moniker Ultimo Mone
.
Timeline of Title Losses
The reduction of Mone’s championship collection began at the end of 2025 with a series of rapid losses:
- The ROH Women’s World Television Championship was lost to Red Velvet at Final Battle.
- The RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship was lost to Alex Windsor during the Collision: Holiday Bash taping in Manchester.
- The AEW TBS Championship was lost to Willow Nightingale on December 31, 2025, which ended a reign lasting 584 days.
While Mone no longer holds any regularly defended active championships, she remains in possession of the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation tournament title, though this specific belt is only defended on an annual basis.
