Blaise Metreweli to Head MI6, First Woman in Role

Britain has appointed Blaise Metreweli, a veteran intelligence officer, as the new chief of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). Metreweli will be the first woman to lead the association.
Metreweli, 47, currently serves as MI6’s head of technology, a position known internally as “Q.” She joined the service in 1999 and has spent much of her career in operational roles across the Middle East and Europe, according to a government statement.
