Large Bitcoin investors, frequently enough referred to as “whales,” and institutions are continuing to aggressively accumulate the cryptocurrency. This trend is coinciding with meaningful inflows into Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Strategy Hints at Further Bitcoin Investment
Michael Saylor, co-founder of Strategy, suggested on April 27, 2025, that another Bitcoin investment could be announced soon. This follows an earlier investment by the company of $555 million,acquiring Bitcoin at an average price of $84,785 per coin.
In a post, Saylor wrote, “Stay modest. Sats piling up,” prompting speculation about the potential size of the company’s next Bitcoin purchase.
RunnerXBT, a blockchain analyst, speculated the investment could range from $1.4 billion to $1.6 billion, according to a social media post.If realized, this would be triple the size of Strategy’s previous investment.
Strategy currently holds over 538,200 bitcoin, valued at more than $50.5 billion, making it the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, according to Bitbo data.
Strategy’s investment strategy has inspired other companies, including Japanese investment firm Metaplanet, which acquired 5,000 Bitcoin as of April 24, 2025, to promote Bitcoin adoption in Asia.
Bitcoin ETFs See $3 Billion Inflows

The number of wallets holding at least $1 million in Bitcoin has increased in early April, rising from 124,000 on April 7 to over 137,600 on April 26, according to data from Glassnode.
Iliya Kalchev,a Nexo analyst,told Cointelegraph that this accumulation has contributed to Bitcoin’s recovery to over $94,000.
Wallets that hold more than 10,000 BTC have accumulated aggressively, with a trend score of 0.90,while smaller investors also switch to long-term holding.
Kalchev added that positive signals from U.S.-China trade talks also contributed to the market’s risk appetite.
Inflows into Bitcoin ETFs have also played a role in Bitcoin’s recent recovery, contributing to a nearly 12% increase.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen net inflows exceeding $3 billion in the past week, marking the second-highest level of investment since their inception, according to data from Farside Investors.
